This started out as a way to share my Russian wedding experiences with my family and friends in America, but as time went on it acquired a life of it's own. It evolved into an attempt to capture and share some of the journey I have had since my first journey in June of 1999. It is my hope that in browsing this site someone else may find the last bit of motivation they need to come and experience this marvelous and mysterious land.

For me as an American born in the 50's it is very hard to believe that I was there - but I wrote this in the den of my home in Yoshkar-Ola, a city some 700 km east of Moscow. You won't see many pictures of Red Square here - but you may get some feel for the real life in today's Russia. I am very grateful to all the wonderful people I have met there who have helped me to learn and better understand their life and struggles, showed me their hearts, shared their hopes and dreams, taught me their culture. I know if nothing else that I acquired a true appreciation for how blessed we are to live in America.
